PRAYER – CONVOS WITH GOD
Ephesians Prayer Part 2
Ephesians 3:14-21 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. NIV
In the Ephesians 1 prayer we look at the enlightenment or the eye opening. In the Ephesians 3 prayer we look at the empowerment to do!!!
STRENGTH from God.
Ephesians 3:16 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
Strengthen – krataioo (krat-ah-yo'-o); to empower, increase in vigor, to make powerful.
Power - dunamis (doo'-nam-is); force, miraculous power, a miracle itself.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." NIV
DEPTH in our relationship with God.
Ephesians 3:17 ..so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
Dwell - katoikeo (kat-oy-keh'-o) to house permanently, to reside, to be at home.
Established - themelioo (them-el-ee-o'-o); to lay a foundation.
FULLNESS of God’s love.
Ephesians 3:17-19 And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Grasp - katalambano (kat-al-am-ban'-o); to take eagerly, to seize, possess.
Filled - pleroo (play-ro'-o); literally to cram, level up, satisfy, finish.
GREATNESS of God’s ability.
Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
Ephesians 3:20 God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Message
