When you ask God for blessings is it just for you. When God blesses you do you believe it's  a blessing that has continuity or you only focus it to yourself. Hannah when Samuel was born the previous generation had social instability,  moral decay as a result of worshipping other gods. So when Hannah prayed for God to give Him a son and that she will dedicate him to His house she asked for a blessing that not only fulfilled her but had continuity it extended to advance the kingdom of God and transformed lives.
