The modern-day “pastor” is a misapplied Bible name for a non-biblical role in the church.  A preacher, evangelist, or minister of the word is distinct from a pastor or elder in the Bible.  Pointing out the differences between the world’s concept of a “pastor” and the Bible’s description of preachers and pastors may help someone see the difference between the Lord’s church and the man-made fabrications found in the various denominations.
