But Servants

Preaching Jesus in a World of Idols (Acts 17:16–34)

Listen Later

Can Christianity hold its own in the marketplace of ideas? In ancient Athens, Paul stood before the intellectual elite of his day—Epicurean and Stoic philosophers—and boldly proclaimed the risen Jesus. He exposed their idols, confronted their worldviews, and introduced them to the one true God: Creator, Sustainer, and Judge of all. In our own multi-ethnic and multi-religious context, the gospel continues to challenge and reshape worldviews. It calls us to think rightly about who God is and how He desires us to live in this world, while we await the next. Join us as we explore what it means to Preach Jesus in a World of Idols and how the gospel may challenge our own understanding of life and faith.Sermon Outline:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aLHrV8G8WaV8d7TlpELDmOa0VHIISV29/view?usp=sharingThis sermon was preached at Cross & Crown, Penang, on 11th May 2025.Check us out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ButServantsCheck out our Spotify Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/796ZzZs0BKjvfJH3H8kaIr?si=5911d4ecb0d846c0Gospel-centred resources, God gives the growth. We are but servants.
