Lesson Text
Your faith will be TESTED. Proven faith is precious and will be rewarded. Tests are OPPORTUNITIES to be BLESSED.
“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!"
Luke 6:22 (ESV)
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds
James 1:2 (ESV)
Faith that overcomes is based on belief and commitment to a PERSON, not a RELIGION.
The gospel message we’ve trusted for the salvation of our souls is the culmination of the messages that were given by the Spirit to the Old Testament prophets.
Implication: We’re part of a MOVEMENT that’s LARGER our individual lives. Before the CROWN of RIGHTEOUSNESS is a CROWN of THORNS.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (ESV)
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
