Il y a 90 ans le compositeur de gospel songs Thomas Andrew Dorsey écrivait le texte de Precious Lord, l'un des chants de gospel parmi les plus reconnus et appréciés des communautés africaines-américaines, une composition souvent interprétée lors des grandes occasions, en particulier les funérailles de personnages importants.
