Long range competitive shooting is not the same as long range hunting. Even though we can hit a target at 1000 yards, we will not take a shot at an animal at those distances. Some do, but ethical hunters know that too much can go wrong at extreme distances. The last thing we want to do is wound an animal, because we failed to do our job as a hunter and close the distance.
