What does it truly mean to prefer God above all else? This thought-provoking message challenges us to examine our daily choices through the lens of Moses' ancient instruction: "Today I have given you a choice between life and death, between blessings and curses."

The concept of preference extends far beyond simple likes and dislikes—it reveals our deepest values and priorities. Using vivid imagery of two banquet tables, we contrast God's table of blessings with the enemy's deceptive offerings, demonstrating how Satan skillfully disguises curses as blessings. This powerful metaphor helps us recognize the subtle ways we're tempted to choose lesser paths.

Our relationships provide a practical testing ground for our preferences. In marriage, we're called to prefer our spouse above others—a daily choice that requires intentionality. Similarly, we must evaluate our friendships and family relationships, sometimes making difficult decisions when certain connections consistently pull us away from God's best for our lives.

Joshua's bold declaration, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord," confronts our tendency toward lukewarm commitment. The challenging question emerges: If someone were to put you on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? Your daily actions, words, and thoughts serve as powerful testimony to what you truly prefer.

The message concludes with personal testimonies of mission work, illustrating how saying "yes" to God opens unexpected doors of opportunity and blessing. Whether through international outreach or simply reaching across the street to a neighbor, choosing to prefer God transforms not only our lives but the lives of those around us. As King Solomon wisely observed, "A wise person chooses the right road. A fool takes the wrong one." Which will you choose today?
