A Colorado man is facing three counts of murder and three counts of tampering with physical evidence after his pregnant wife and two young daughters disappeared this week, police say. 33-year-old Chris Watts was taken into custody Wednesday night and is being held in the Weld County jail, north of Denver. Shanann Watts, who was 15-weeks pregnant, was reported missing on Monday along with her two daughters, Bella, 3, and Celeste, 4. Colorado officials confirmed their deaths in a press conference today, stating they are "quite certain" Shanann's body has been found, and "we have strong reason to believe we know where the body of the children are, and recovery efforts are in process." According to police, Shanann's body was found on property where her husband worked.

A friend of Shayna Hubers took the stand yesterday to tell the court about foreboding text messages from the weeks before Hubers allegedly shot her boyfriend six times and killed him. One of the texts read, "When I go to the shooting range with Ryan tonight I want to turn around, shoot and kill him and play like it's an accident." Prosecutors are painting Hubers as 'jealous, calculated and manipulative' but the suspect is claiming self-defense. Hubers, who in 2015 was found guilty of murdering 29-year-old Ryan Poston, was granted a retrial after her attorney discovered a juror in the first trial had a prior felony conviction. Now, her defense team is arguing she was the victim of long-term abuse that forced her to take drastic measures for the sake of her own safety. Will the jury buy her story?
