Social categorisation and social identity is alive and kicking. People are categorised into ‘us’ and ‘them’ groups. Social categorisation is sufficient to create a society of prejudice and discrimination. Books, be they factual or fictional such as: ’We are not like them’ ‘How race is made in America: are Italians white’ and other books refers to social categorisation. Study Coach Podcast is interested in understanding people’s attitudes towards prejudice and discrimination, and to encourage people not to chide away from openly talking about discriminatory practices. A member of the British Royal family Meghan Markle (Duchess of Sussex) and her husband Prince Harry have made allegations that Meghan experienced racial discrimination. The media often report that there is racism in the world of football, other sports and business sectors have been accused of practicing prejudice and discrimination.
