Following the release of "La route des Alpes - 1921," Nouveau Monica presents a reinterpretation of "Ascension," one of the standout tracks from the DNGLS album. This album was produced following a commission from the Scène Nationale de Lux in Valence to create a live cinema-concert for André Bayard’s silent film, La route des Alpes. It is an exploration of a world and a mountain landscape that no longer exist, traveling through Évian, the Galibier Pass, and Mont Blanc. The album is steeped in this black-and-white atmosphere, giving it a new dimension, an emotion-filled journey shifting between ambient, electronica, breakbeat, and IDM.
With a cinematic signature shared with DNGLS, Nouveau Monica reveals a new narrative to the track.. This version is extended and more dynamic, featuring more sustained drum breaks and a brighter tone, while still preserving a deep sense of melancholy. With this remix Nouveau Monica continues the "Ascension" far beyond the Alps.
