The 7th Frenzy chapter is upon us and we are delighted to present a long-running project with no other than UK mastermind Hurdslenk. Years ago he took part in the Frenzy contest - having us hopelessly falling in love with his driving trademark sound. Growing up in the 00s techno era, he subtly blends old-school elements with a contemporary vision in an unrivalled way, resulting in releases on labels such as Freddy K’s KEY. We’re proud to finally see ‘Twenty Cycles’ EP delivered, a 6-track EP including two remixes by UK-born and raised Bailey Ibbs and Frenzy co-founder Isaiah.
‘Pull Effect’ opens the realm of the A-side and pays respect to its name. You’re drawn into a scenery of deep kicks, drums, and mental vocals. Followed by ‘Mayhem’, a deep and pensive groover that slowly builds up to an echo chamber of dark pads and gentle dub accents. Bailey Ibbs kicks in the door with a remix on the verge of the industrial and the forceful. The B-side embarks on a ride into the past with ‘Warriors’, where compressed dub patterns and a haunting speech set the stage for a mind-altering body workout. Before you know it, ‘Onem’ kicks in with a tension release and sweaty groove while Isaiah flips the coin on this track and transforms it into an uplifting bouncy bass workout.
It’s time to move -‘Twenty Cycles’ EP takes you on a journey into the deep.
