MDA Grooves keeps a low profile but is a prolific producer who turns out a steady stream of sophisticated house grooves that are steeped in genuine Latin heat. He's a master of percussion, sun-kissed melodies and steamy atmospheres that immediately transport you to the Southern Hemisphere and the hustle and bustle of a street party. His music forms the backbone of the Universo Positivo label and is a cultured mix of Afro, salsa, disco and cumbia, often in collaboration with musicians and vocalists from Ghana and Brazil.
Open 'Mi Corazon' is a swooning deep house sound with alluring sax notes lingering up top with a cheeky wink as dubby drums and meandering piano notes add to the sense of gentle romance. 'Radio BC Sur' slows even further into a cumbia rhythm with wonky accordion unfolding up top and female vocals adding some edge to the lush melodies.
