Twisted tendrils, organic growth, and murky jungle scenes all spring to mind while listening to the forthcoming Hypersonic Macrobiomas EP by R-010 on Obtuse Swamp. The Madrid based producer stretches his auditory muscles to showcase a wide range of moods throughout the release that build upon dynamic sound design, half time tempos and deft uses of melody to propel listeners into a whirlwind of feelings.

One of two remixers on the release (the other being a fellow Spaniard, Absis) is Berlin native, Toxido Mask. Her take on R-010’s ‘Thermoplastic Skins’ dives deeper into the abyss, as bass lines swell and stuttery percussion lines pick away - both contributing to a frenetic tension that just needs to be released.

Hypersonic Macrobiomas will be out in its entirety on the 19th of December via the Barcelona based imprint, Obtuse Swamp.
