Deep and twisting syncopated beats are a staple here at Delayed. There’s something about the off-kilter sounds that truly pique our interest and ears. Something off the beaten path, a bit less heard, a bit more unique. Today’s premiere from South African producer, Shervaan Bergsteedt is another foray into that realm.

To set the scene, Thantophobia elicits images of a starry night sky, sitting around a campfire flanked by nature’s animalistic hum, providing an ebb and flow of life. The various leads and synths giving voice to those indistinct animalistic chatter. The thump of the kick pulsing through the night, and a voice flowing through it all, almost like a breeze.
