Preparation in the Valley:

God never prepares us for anything on the mountaintop. I wish he did. But God's plans, timing, and how he does what he does will never truly make sense to us. It requires Faith.

Faith in the Valley:

What is Faith when you're in the valley of darkness? Simply put, it is trusting God. Faith is hope in God; it is trusting God. Therefore, God doesn't allow us to be prepared on the mountaintop because we must develop this type of trust and hope that will take us to the next level in our lives.

In addition, God wants us to know him. He wants us to rely on him and trust that he knows the way (John 14:6). But, the first part of this verse says, I am the way. You see, we can fuss all we want about not knowing what's going on in our preparation season or not understanding what's happening in our lives. Sometimes, it seems God is not there, but God will not change to appease us when he knows where he's taking us. He's the way!

We want the map and the navigation system, but God's saying, I am the way. It's like people going on a tour in Africa, and the tour guide is with them, but they are asking for a map and want to know how to get here and there. The tour guide then looks at them and says, I am the map.

Jesus is the way; when he's preparing us, we must trust that he knows the way. He is the map.

Let's trust him in our preparation season. We will make it to the other side if we do not faint. God's with us in the valley, and we are coming out better.
