We love Jesus when He is the Good Shepherd, and when He is blessing the children, and when He is feeding the multitude. However, we get a little freaked out when Jesus is chasing the money changers out of the temple and displaying power and authority. Jesus wants to be our friend, but we need Him to be our King.
It isn't because we don't like being ruled. We give Lordship of our lives to all sorts of people, things, ideas, ailments, and urges. We love being ruled. Why do we have such a hard time giving rule our lives to the one ruler who can really change and make all things new? In this sermon we'll explore that a little bit and see what we can do, with Christ the King's help, to prepare our hearts for Jesus to be ruler of our lives.
