As we enter into the Christmas season, we take time to celebrate the why of Christmas. As we look to the why of Christmas, we ask: Why did Jesus come? He came to take away (remove) our sin. Jesus knew no sin and was still not a sinner but placed the object sin on Himself for us. He did that on our behalf. He did for us what we could not do for ourselves. He robed Himself with our mess. He received the punishment for what we’ve done. In exchange for Him removing our identity as sin, He gave us His identity. An identity of righteousness, holiness. Without that, there is no unity with the Heavenly Father. This is being born again. Have you trusted Jesus to give you His identity? Listen to this sermon about our identity in Christ in the first part of our Prepare the Way series.
