We live in a technologically enabled modern and connected society. We wake daily assuming a host of services and systems will function, from the power grid to the sewage system, from the cell network to the healthcare facilities. We assume away a host of risks that exist - to build a personal preparedness plan you need to understand the risks to which you are exposed to, assess those and determine whether changes are necessary to address unacceptable risks.
Our research and evidence based methodology is to utilize critical infrastructure as the frame for our exposure. To understand that our society is enabled through the operation of the 10 sectors of CI, each constructed of a number of elements. By reflecting on your exposure to and dependancy to CI, you begin to understand the importance to preparedness. You accept a host of risks by voluntarily living in the location you do, in the type of housing, your employment and your lifestyle.
