Today is about the human networks, your social capital.  The value of people around you, their skills and personal resources that you get access to by meeting your neighbour.  The most important piece in emergency preparedness is other humans.  More so than food, water or medicine, they are the key to human survival and building relationships is the best initial start point for building a more reliant lifestyle.
