January is here, and 2021 is coming in hot already. A lot of New Year goals tend to be health related. Rachel Hanes is our guest today, and she is a licensed and registered dietician. She is passionate about health, and serving those around her. A registered dietitian gives counsel on nutrition and food, and supports others to improve their health. Her heart for others shines through her work. Rachel is my mentor, so our conversation starts around mentorship and how we make our relationship a priority. We later get into the health-centered conversation. She talks about her journey of becoming a dietitian, and how the industry she found has shaped her. Our guest shares her health journey, and why she wanted to start a career in nutrition. She then walks us through diet culture in light of developing food-related goals. We chat about the pros and cons of fad diets, how starvation and depravation can affect our brains, and the difference between disordered eating and eating disorders.
