This week’s Pre OT Secrets, Jessica Lopez will continue to interview Dr. Christina Bertran. Dr.  Bertran has been practicing occupational therapy since 2015. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Florida International University in 2015 and Doctorate from Boston University in 2019.  Dr. Bertran is passionate about the interdisciplinary collaboration between speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists in promoting pre-linguistic skills in children. Additionally, she is a certified fieldwork educator and is passionate about helping fieldwork students receive the highest quality of clinical education.

 

They will touch on such topics as:

  • Prepare your mind and make sure that what you are doing is in the right way so you are not wasting any precious time and money
    • Be reflective and make sure you know what you are getting into 
      • Why is a master's degree more suitable than getting a doctorate in the field of academe?
