Mary Miele presents five steps to prepare for your child's Parent-Teacher Conference.

The first step is to gather information about your child's schedule and teacher names. Step two involves interviewing your child, which is a fun activity to do at any time! The third step is to read about child development and milestones. These can serve as reference points to understand what your child could be doing at their age. During step four parents will synthesize the information they've gathered and make a plan for the conference. Once the conference is held, the last step involves reflecting, reviewing and reacting to what you have learned.
