As a parent I realized what gifts are most meaningful in this life. I also believe this is one of the most important teachings for our children.
When we stop to appreciate the time we have with each other, with ourselves, we open ourselves to a whole new level of experience.
Playtime is more memorable then getting a gift to play with.
You can certainly do both! Harmony comes from tipping the scale and remembering what is most meaningful to you. Gifts are a particular language of love but its when those gifts are appreciated that the genuine love is shared. Giving a gift at the expense of your own time, especially for children, is something to look into further.
Because, your experience is amplified by staying present and attentive to your emotions, your desires, & your values.
Try this exercise:
Write down (at least) three ways in which you can celebrate yourself regardless of where you are in this process...
1. What grounds you...
2. What excites you and is most meaningful..
3. What elevates your experience of love and compassion with yourself & others--that goes beyond the spoken word...
Leave the list open so you can continue to expand on it and use it regularly. Join the celebration of self and growth in my private Facebook Harmony Within: Discovering Passion, Truth & Wisdom.
Let me know in the comments what you celebrate in life that holds a lot of meaning to you>>>
