We dive into a great conversation about her background, being raised by two awesome parents with unique perspectives that have helped her in her professional career. Being a woman in the workforce has been difficult but we talk about how far things have come and what individuals can do to improve their situations. Some technical conversations are shared around contracts, technology and entity structures, as well as some insight into working with large companies; versus smaller boutique service providers. Sharon also shared her experience with cancer and the battles and perspectives she has had to have to overcome those difficult situations.
Sharon L. Tasman is a seasoned business and technology attorney with over 30 years of legal experience. Having spent 15 years at Hogan Lovells, one of the world's largest law firms, and serving as in-house counsel at MedImmune, Sharon founded HTBiz Law to offer clients the best of both worlds—a boutique law firm experience with the expertise of a global firm. She has successfully negotiated complex contracts and managed individual transactions exceeding $200 million, while also providing comprehensive training and authoring publications on legal matters.
Sharon's passion lies in empowering women and members of the BIPOC community to start and grow their businesses. With her unique blend of legal expertise, technical knowledge, and firsthand entrepreneurial experience, she understands the challenges faced by solo and small businesses and offers tailored solutions to overcome them. Sharon holds a Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law and is admitted to practice law in multiple states.
