Listen Later

Recently when onsite with clients the subject of data retention for legal/compliance reasons has been a frequent topic of conversation. IT Administrators are looking for ways to improve upon their data retention procedures to provide them with a more robust, bulletproof, solutions beyond traditional legal hold.
In this edition of Michael on the Go I discuss the use of Office 365 Data Retention Policies and the addition of a Preservation Lock that can ensure that not even Office 365 Tenant Admins can override the set policy. This is vital in light of compliance regulations such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rule 17a-4, which requires that after a preservation policy is turned on, it cannot be turned off or made less restrictive.
