Scripture: Luke 9:57-62

Jesus is a rough recruiter. Three people offer to follow Jesus, and he cautions each of them about the high cost of following him. Jesus is moving ahead, and to follow him inevitably means leaving something cherished behind. But we cannot make it to a new future without traveling lightly. So learning to surrender is one of our most critical spiritual disciplines.
