A survey released Tuesday by the Taiwan-based CommonWealth Magazine shows that President Tsai Ing-wen’s popularity during her second term in office is at 48%, beating the record of her two predecessors, Ma Ying-jeou and Chen Shui-bian, during their second terms. However, 46% were not happy with her performance last year. The survey also found that about 49% of the polled are optimistic about Taiwan’s future development, a 20-year record high.
