  • S6 Ep 18: No Donation Is Too Small

In this week's episode of the PrevenTable, Jenny sits down with Rachel D'Souza, CEO and Founder of Gladitor Consulting! With 12 years of experience supporting more than 250 local and national nonprofits, Rachel shares insight into the impact of giving back. Whether it's a hundred dollars or just one, every contribution can make a difference. Generosity isn't limited to monetary donations, either; volunteering your time can be just as powerful! Every act of generosity helps strengthen the organizations and communities that support individuals and families, reinforcing the importance of investing in prevention and advancing PreventEd's mission to prevent the harms of alcohol and other drug use.

  • S6 Ep 17: Everybody Deserves A Home

In this week's episode of the PrevenTable, Jenny sits down with Betsy Reznicek, Founder and Executive Director of Home Sweet Home, a nonprofit working to close the furniture poverty gap by providing essential household furnishings to individuals and families in need. Access to necessities can make a lasting difference in a person’s life —stability, dignity, and a foundation for families to build a brighter future. Yet, for many, poverty-created barriers can extend across generations, limiting access to resources and opportunities for years to come. Prevention means looking at the bigger picture and addressing barriers of all kinds. This helps strengthen families, and by connecting people with the resources they need to thrive, we can break cycles of generational poverty and build healthier communities. Partnerships like the one forged between PreventEd and Home Sweet Home help recognize that meaningful change starts with meeting people where they are and creating opportunities for individuals and families to thrive.

  • S6 Ep 16: Preserving Potential

On this week’s episode of The PrevenTable, Jenny sits down with Allison Williams, President and CEO of Wyman Center, and Allie Farrell, Director of Strategic Initiatives at Children’s Funding Project, to discuss the realities young people face—and how we can better support them. Young people are navigating a world that can feel increasingly uncertain and overwhelming. Rather than viewing youth as “broken individuals,” this conversation invites us to look at the world around them, understand what they’re experiencing, and consider what they need to thrive. At PreventEd, prevention is about more than addressing substance use. It’s about education, connection, early support, and building healthy communities where young people can flourish. It’s about preserving the experience of being young and protecting young people's potential.

  • S6 Ep 15 In The Weeds: Prevention Is Not Exclusive

In this week's episode of the PrevenTable, Jenny gets “In The Weeds” with PreventEd Community Strategist Stacie Zellin and Education Program Coordinator Daniel Blunt from St. Louis Oasis. Daniel, a former PreventEd practicum student, now helps design educational programs for older adults at St. Louis Oasis. Stacie, who has spent 11 years at PreventEd, brings prevention education into communities and shares a similar background with Daniel: working with older adults. Together, they highlight an important part of prevention: it doesn’t exclude older adults. Older populations face unique risk factors related to substance use, making education and awareness especially important. With St. Louis Oasis’ focus on empowering older adults through education and PreventEd’s mission to prevent substance use and promote healthy communities, Stacie and Daniel aim to provide a space to connect these shared goals—and keep prevention conversations inclusive at every stage of life.

  • S6 Ep 11 In The Weeds: Cannabinoids and the Youth

This week, PreventEd's Director of Advocacy Adam McBride sits down with Jenny Armbruster to explain the current state of cannabinoids in Missouri. He mentions the need to advocate at all levels of government for true regulation of these products. While licensed dispensaries are the go-to for most, people are still able to purchase misleading and commercially camouflaged cannabinoids at a local gas station. The call to action on this issue has been around since 2018, and, thankfully, Missouri legislation is starting to head in the right direction. Through educational and advocacy opportunities, PreventEd's mission aims to empower young adults to continue to make smart decisions about cannabis use, especially with school starting up soon.

  • S6 Ep10: Exercising Empathy

Sritha Rathikindi pulls up a chair at the PrevenTable this week with host Jenny Armbruster to talk about advocacy, especially the promise young people hold. She attended Hear Us: PreventEd's annual advocacy event at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City. She has seen the initiative grow from 6 to almost 30 people over the past year. Currently, she serves on the board of directors as our teen representative. The perspective she provides, not just for PreventEd's board of directors but also for our state legislators, is a crucial element in advocating in our communities for those dealing with substance and alcohol use disorders.
