As we age, our immune system becomes weaker and is therefore unable to ward off infection as easily as in our younger years.1 This is particularly troublesome during flu season. In fact, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recently looked at flu vaccine data for adults aged 65 years and older, and they now recommend that this age group preferentially receive higher dose or adjuvanted vaccines over standard dose unadjuvanted vaccines when available.2 So what was the data that led to these updated recommendations?
