The Furphy – Gimcrack Stakes has a short- priced favourite in Amelia’s Jewel, who was highly impressive in the Supremacy Stakes a fortnight back. The filly has drawn awkwardly in a bigger field however punters have her as a dominant market leader. Her rivals all appear to be evenly matched. It should be an exciting affair. The Perth Stakes, for the colts and geldings, is a much more even affair with the debutante Givemeonereason heading the TABtouch market. Snowdome, Man Crush, Saintorio, Street Parade and the highly promising Left the Building will all have serious claims. The meeting gets under way at 12.23pm with the final race at 5.40pm.
