It’s Derby day on Saturday at Ascot, with the three-year old’s on centre stage for the running of the $400 000 Group 2 event.  Alaskan God and Trix of the Trade are the two prime candidates from a betting perspective. The form of these two gelding’s going into this race is exemplary. Lady Chant, the Oaks winner, adds some spice to the race as she is obviously on the way up and proven at the 2400m. Pale Rider has had a catch-up preparation however he should be considered a strong each way chance in the staying feature for the three-year old’s. It is a big nine event card, with the first set down for 12.04pm.
