Prey, the latest direct-to-streaming film in the Predator franchise has garnered a great deal of praise (some would call it unwarranted hype). As the debate rages online within and between different camps in the culture wars, we cut through the bluster and B.S. and get down to the timeless universal Truths being conveyed through well-established and clearly defined archetypes. It turns out Prey is a modern fantasy adventure / fairy tale worthy of the great mythological tales of old...not least for what it teaches us about our own Heroic journey...our own Path to liberation from what stalks us, and recognition/exaltation as a warrior by our own "tribe."
