I bet this sounds familiar. Back when I started my VA business, I decided to charge an hourly rate a little lower than the 9-5 job I had just left. Honest to God, my thought process was that I was greedy to charge more because I was so blessed to be able to work from home and save on daycare expenses. 

There were a few problems with that logic. It didn’t account for:

• Overhead
• Taxes
• Guaranteed hours
• Fees for job sites
• The market value for my skills

Your job as an online business owner is to show the value in what you do. From there, take inventory of your skills, experience, investments, and your research to set a rate that pays you what you’re worth.
