The focus in Leviticus 21-22 moves back to purpose and function of the priests. Because God is holy, the office of the priest must be holy as well. Not only that, but the office is of more importance than the individual who is fulfilling the office. Over and over again in these chapters, we see God’s design for the priests to be His representatives to the people and the people’s representative to the Lord.
