DMV Spotlight shines a light on the ongoing battle over the data center project known as the Prince William Digital Gateway on Oct 5th, 2025. The latest legal ruling sends the project back to the County Board of Supervisors for renewed consideration. Longtime data center opponent and Gainesville resident, Bill Wright explains he is now giving up the battle and moving out of Prince William County.

 Wright shared that he and his wife carefully chose their retirement community with adjoining woods and the Manassas Battlefield but learned it would be less than 30 feet from the data centers with less than a 30 yard buffer. Wright also mentioned the latest data center battles will not only be over land use and valuation, clean water and energy use but also noise.
