Peter’s letter comes with the same urgency as Jesus’ own announcement of the kingdom in the parables and elsewhere. Once again, he calls the believes to a sober and fixed mindedness (4:7).
For Peter this urgency is outworked in the ongoing love for the church and for stewarding the grace that we have each been given, “in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”
