Prioritize Your Priorities Part #3: JonJon and How to Say NO!

Listen Later

I probably hear someone once a week say “if only there were 25 hours in a day” or “if only there were more time”. It’s not unusual to think that we could get more done “if only” our time were less limited. Besides the less obvious health issues that would arise from having 25, 35, or even 45 hours in a day, the truth of the matter is, no matter how much time we’re given, we’ll find a way to fill it up. As Parkinson’s Law tells us, our tasks will expand to fulfill the time allotted to their completion. The truth of the matter is, we ALL have 24 hours to work with in a day. Some people use that 24 hours and, over time, become billionaires. Other people use that same 24 hours, seem to work harder, seem to be more diligent, and still end up unhappy and unfulfilled. So, no one is given extra time. No one granted more time so that they can achieve more than you can. What’s more likely, at least from what I’ve found in my personal discovery of my own time management, is that you’re not spending time of the right things. The things that you’re spending time on, instead, are mostly unnecessary distractions or, worse, someone else’s idea of how you should be spending your time. This series will tackle the compelling question of how do some people use their time to achieve greatness, while other people, given the same amount of time and usually putting in more hard work, seem to be spinning their wheels going no where? In this episode I talk with Jon Curl, AKA JonJon. Jon is a radio DJ for the Cincinnati-based station, KISS 107. Over the years of knowing Jon, I’ve noticed that he’s shifted his way of thinking about how he spends his time. He’s become more purposeful in what he says YES to and what he says NO to, ensuring that he’s not overloaded with unnecessary stress which keeps him from prioritizing his family. In this episode (Part #3) we talk about: · Jon’s 15-year journey from radio intern to afternoon prime-time show host· How Jon has shifted his thinking about success over time· The biggest pitfalls of becoming a local celebrity· Why Jon is more purposeful about what he says YES to· What drives Jon to fulfill his purpose in life· So much more… Follow Jon Curl Facebook: https://bit.ly/4086crN Instagram: https://bit.ly/3KWYZq9 iHeart Radio/KISS107: https://kisscincinnati.iheart.com/featured/jonjon-and-friends/ Be sure to connect with Thriveology and Good Wolf Radio: Thriveology: http://bit.ly/3TILsVR Good Wolf Radio: http://bit.ly/42I0lMf Instagram: https://bit.ly/3K6XGVl Facebook: https://bit.ly/3LKDpGh
