Be good. Don’t be a burden, and we will let you stay.
For a long time, that was the script playing in my head, and it followed me into my relationships and my career. I believed that if I stayed quiet, kept everyone comfortable and asked for nothing, I would finally belong.
In this episode of Prioritize Yourself, I read my poem and story, “As Long As You’re Good,” and share how burnout became the turning point that pointed me back toward myself. If you are a woman who gives endlessly to others, especially in healthcare, and feels guilty putting yourself first, this one is for you.
I was born good. I only forgot.
So I want to leave you with two questions. What script were you handed? And if you got to define good for yourself, what would your story say? Tell me, I would love to hear it.
Follow Prioritize Yourself wherever you listen, and read the full piece on my Substack, Prioritize Yourself and Rise.
Burnout doesn't always look like collapse. Sometimes it looks like a woman who has everything together on the outside while slowly losing herself on the inside. In this episode of Prioritize Yourself, I share my personal story of burnout as a nurse, the masks I wore to keep showing up for everyone else, and the quiet, unglamorous work of choosing myself again. We talk about guilt, fear, identity, and what real transformation actually looks like when no one's watching.
A must-listen for women, especially those in healthcare and high-performing women ready to put the mask down.

Have you ever felt as though you had to choose between who you've always been and who you're becoming?
In this episode, I share a conversation with a friend that challenged the way I saw myself. For years, I proudly called myself a nurse, yet calling myself a writer felt unfamiliar—even after publishing a book. It made me realise that it wasn't a lack of skills holding me back. It was my willingness to fully own what I wanted.
We often believe our identity is tied to one job title, one career, or one version of ourselves. But what if we're allowed to hold more than one identity? What if the skills we've gathered throughout our lives are preparing us for the next chapter?
Join me as I reflect on transferable skills, self-belief, and the courage to embrace every part of who you are. Because you don't have to stop being one thing to become another.

Perhaps the next chapter of your life begins the moment you give yourself permission to say,
I am allowed to be more than one thing.
Have you ever revisited something you thought you were finished with, only to discover it in a completely new way?
In this episode, I share a simple but powerful experience that started while clearing out old vision board magazines and turned into a beautiful reminder about growth, perspective, and personal evolution. As I found myself drawn back to something I'd done many times before, I realised that sometimes it's not the experience that changes—it's us.
Join me as I explore the unexpected joy of revisiting old dreams,
hobbies, places, and possibilities, and why the second time around might hold exactly what you need in this season of your life.
This episode is a gentle invitation to stay curious, remain open, and trust that growth often reveals itself when we least expect it.

If you've ever questioned yourself, worried about starting over, or wondered whether you're capable of creating the life you truly want, this episode is a reminder that you are worthy, capable, and more powerful than you think.

In this deeply honest episode, we explore what it means to grieve the old version of yourself — the woman who survived by self-sacrificing, overgiving, staying silent, and carrying burdens that were never hers to hold.
Together, we unpack the conditioning many women, especially Black women, have inherited: the pressure to be strong, resilient, and endlessly available while neglecting our own wellbeing, rest, pleasure, and truth.
This episode is an invitation to release the versions of yourself built purely for survival. The version that settled, stayed quiet, abandoned her needs, and believed exhaustion was the price of worthiness.
Through reflection, healing, and gentle encouragement, this conversation reminds you that you no longer have to carry everything alone.
It’s time to grieve.
To release.
To make space for the woman you are becoming.
Because your blossoming is coming. 🤍
