What kind of priority do we place on our marriage? Are our jobs getting in the way? Our friendships? Pride? How can we balance these things?

Divorce is a major problem in our culture. The number of children who suffer because of it is astounding. Divorce is always unpleasant and disruptive. In fact, it can take years to overcome the negative effects.

And good marriages offer so much that it only makes sense to make it a high priority. But I’ve seen so many couples who seem to take their marriage for granted–assuming that their spouse will always be there for them no matter what. We would all like to think so, but no marriage is 100% divorce-proof without EFFORT.
