In WEST CHESTER, PA. a recently convicted murderer who had eluded capture for several days following his escape from a suburban Philadelphia prison was observed on residential security cameras shortly after midnight on Saturday. Authorities have not disclosed the details of Danelo Cavalcante's, 34, escape from Chester State Prison on Thursday morning, and they are currently investigating the incident. Cavalcante had received a life sentence just last month for the murder of his ex-girlfriend in front of her children. He managed to escape while awaiting transfer to a state prison.Cavalcante's presence was detected on surveillance cameras at approximately 12:30 a.m. in Pocopson Township, which is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) from the prison, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
