A judge in Florida granted a search warrant allowing the widespread search of DNA databases to try and solve a criminal case. Despite some terms of service requiring customers to consent to the release of their DNA to law enforcement, those same terms of service allow the companies to release your data if it is in accordance with a duly-issued search warrant. What if you get caught up in a false-positive match? Now you have to expend significant resources to prove you’re not the criminal. Still believe that you have “nothing to hide?"
