I had an interesting conversation with Michelle Case from Smith Barney about a program they offer that can be used to buy commercial real estate using a revolving credit line that uses your portfolio of stocks, bonds, mutual funds etc. as collateral. It is a wonderful way to buy a property with great terms offered to the seller, effectively lowering your purchase price and then securing long term traditional loans after the fact if need be.
