For the most part, I don’t have a problem assuming responsibility for and dealing with the consequences of my own actions. But when it comes to getting involved in helping with other people’s problems, I find my patience quickly wears thin. Every now and then a situation crosses my path that I feel challenged to get involved with - to help in some way. Often it’s a family member or a friend, but it’s happened with strangers too. But what starts off as a simple favor, sometimes turns into much more. Though I know my help is needed and important, I can find myself regretting getting involved in the first place - thinking "this was just a bad idea". Ever had that happen to you?

Question... when those bad feelings emerge - when you begin to feel frustration, even resentment - are these signs that getting involved was a bad idea?
