Bishop Hassan ministers in a particularly hostile part of Sudan - the Nuba Mountain region, a land that is rich in mineral resources and diversity of people groups. Since the early 1980s, this area has been volatile. Air bombardments and land offensives continue as the government tries to control the region. It is here that Bishop Hassan chooses to stay. His ministry is characterised by being present with the people of the Nuba Mountains, working towards peace as he tries to mitigate the impact of conflict on the communities he serves.
