On this, episode 19, of the Designer Strategy podcast, we start our 3 part miniseries on procrastination.  There are millions of people who’s productivity is impacted by procrastination and thousands of strategies to remedy it.
On this episode we look at techniques that are all related to increasing the value of the work you are doing.  These tactics cripple procrastination because if makes you want to get the work done.

Here is a list of the different tactics from this episode.

* Find your passion

When you know what excites you, you will be compelled to do it and stop procrastinating.
* Find a mixture of long term and short term gains

Make sure you are incentivized in the long and short term.  These rewards act as motivation to keep you moving forward.
* Add accountability

Nothing makes procrastination easier, then having nothing to be liable for.
* Use productive procrastination

Find out what things are a waste of your time and procrastinate on those items.
* Keep your brain healthy

Diet, exercise, and rest are all important to a healthy brain.  Make sure you have one.
* Create a reward

If a reward is not already in place for accomplishing your tasks, why not create one so there is something to look forward to.
* Get some energy

Get you blood flowing, your juices going, and your body movings.  It’s hard to stop an object that is already in motion.
* Get in a good environment

Find a place that makes you feel empowered and motivated.  It’s a good idea to have one that is free from distraction too.
* Create competition

Use your built in competitive nature to help you move forward and take action.
* Find flow

Identify how you can become focused and tranquil in the work you do.
