Podcasts have exploded in popularity over the past decade and made their mark as a new form of media that isn’t going anywhere. It’s a fascinating medium in that it is completely uncensored, anyone can make one (no matter how good or bad). It’s a place where you can find your voice and your audience.
Khrysti Hunsworth has been producing podcasts longer than anyone I know and is setting the standard for how it should be done. With breakout hits like the Gr80’s and their first podcast Star Wars in Character, Khrysti, and her husband now produce over 25 different shows. Many of these podcasts are original productions done with a variety of hosts, covering everything from obscure board games to Special effects tech breakdowns.
For over a decade Khrysti has master the art of producing podcasts but that’s not even her full-time job. Khrysti also works at Universal Studios Florida. This is where her story gets interesting.
After rising through the corporate ranks and achieving great success, Khrysti saw a series of unfortunate events that left her overworked and overwhelmed, emotionally after finally losing her mother to cancer. But hitting that wall, asking for help, and stepping outside her comfort zone changed everything. Khrysti had to chance to rediscover her passions, pursuits, and purpose.
She has since found a new niche at universal and makes time for all the other things she loves. And that not just podcasts, Khrysti has stepped up her game and stepped back into the world of improv and stage acting. Pursuing all the things that keep her happy, healthy, and only halfway crazy. Khrysti has been able to design the lifestyle she loves, defining her purpose, and performing every step along the way. I hope you enjoy my candid conversation with Khrysti Hunsworth.
