Thanks for listening as Pastor Jeremy shares Sunday in Glendive.
Matt 25:14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man
traveling to a far country, who called his own servants
and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave
five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each
according to his own ability; and immediately he went
on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five
talents went and traded with them, and made another
five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two
gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one
went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and
settled accounts with them.
This parable teaches us about the following:
● Success is a product of our work
● We have everything we need to get the job done
● We have different abilities.
● The effort & payout are equivalent.
We will be accountable for our stewardship
● The unfaithful steward didn’t waste his master’s
money...he wasted an opportunity.
● What has the Lord given us that we aren’t doing
something with?
● Rom 5:17 For if by the one man’s offense death
reigned through the one, much more those who
receive abundance of grace and of the gift of
righteousness will reign in life through the One,
Jesus Christ
○ Don’t waste an opportunity to reign in life
● Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be
witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
○ Don’t waste an opportunity to be a witness
● 1 Thes 2:13 For this reason we also thank God
without ceasing, because when you received the
word of God which you heard from us, you
welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in
truth, the word of God, which also effectively
works in you who believe.
○ Don’t waste an opportunity to be a doer of
the Word.
● Rom 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because
the love of God has been poured out in our hearts
by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
○ Don’t waste an opportunity to walk in love
We were created to produce, been given everything
necessary to be productive, and are expected to do so.
