Prof James Flynn is a New Zealand intelligence researcher and an Emeritus Professor of Political Studies at the University of Otago. He is famous for his publications about the continued year-after-year increase of IQ scores throughout the world, which is now referred to as the Flynn effect.

Recently Jim wrote a book defending free speech, a book that was picked up by Emerald Press who then recanted their offer to publish citing concerns about the "subject matter, the work addresses sensitive topics of race, religion, and gender."
