Mobbed in Utica: Welcomed in Utica on October 21, 1835, an angry crowd surrounded Bleecker Street Church in Utica, NY. Inside were over 600 abolitionist they gathered to form the first New York Anti-Slavery society. On Friday, October 22, at 7 p.m. the church which is now Smithfield Center located in Peterboro, N.Y. will be hosting a dramatic reenactment of the inaugural meeting of the New York Anti-Slavery slavery.
